The Alamance-Burlington School System will hold an election for 3 School Board seats on November 8, 2022. School Board members are selected “At Large,” meaning voters will be able to vote for 3 of the 6 candidates on the ballot. The candidates are Charles Parker, Dan Ingle, Chuck Marsh, Seneca Rogers, Avery Wagoner, and Leonard Harrison.

Parker is a registered Republican.

 

Parker wants to improve curriculum transparency.

 

Parker believes that remote learning has led to learning loss and has noted in public comments before the School Board that ABSS stayed in remote instruction well past when it was safe for students to return to school.

 

Parker believes parents should be “engaged as partners in the educational journey.”

Dan Ingle is a registered Republican.


Ingle believes the focus of schools should be on students and not politics.


Ingle supports schools returning to normal after COVID-19 and does not support mask or vaccine mandates.


Ingle supports greater parental engagement and says there is a disconnect between the school system and community.

Dan Ingle is Retired Chief of Police, former County Commissioner, and former Member of the North Carolina House of Representatives.

Marsh is a registered Republican and has voted in Republican primary elections.

 

Marsh supports removing controversial books from district libraries.

 

Marsh wants to put students ahead of politics and is against critical race theory.

Rogers is a registered Democrat and has voted in Democrat primary elections.

 

The Alamance County Democratic Party has endorsed Rogers, and he has participated in “Democratic Candidate Meet & Greet” events.

 

Rogers supports critical race theory and has promoted “equity.”
